Ever hear of Jacqueline de Ribes? Until yesterday neither had I, but apparently she was a pretty bad mama jamma. Jacqueline was a socialite and fashion muse for haute couturier’s. That is until she went undercover as a fashion assistant and soon become a designer herself. It was frowned upon for young woman to take a job of any kind, as a designer’s assistant Jacqueline went against the grain and learned the fashion trade. The pictures below show some of her creations. All are beautifully showcased now at the metropolitan museum of art at an exhibition called, “Jacqueline de Ribes; The Art of Style.” What do you think of her designs?
